VISIT AT TYLER MINIGYRO

Now this is one of the most interesting and fun parts about preproduction!! Checking out gear and testing equipment. Since, Schwartza involves some heavy rigging for a bicycle chase, I was doing research for rigs and mounts and stumbled across an awesome company, who just recently came out with a genius mount called the TYLER MINIGYRO Camera Stabilizer.

Tyler Camera Supports specializes in helicopter mounts for Motion Picture Film Cameras, as well as new Digital Technology. Over the last couple of years the company received a huge demand in the rigs. The requests overseas were heard, however some of the rigs did not quite fit on different helicopter manufactures in other countries.

To compensate for the rising demand the company came up with a genius innovation that developed not only for a lightweight stabilized camera mounts in helicopter, but a rig that is readily available for cars, boats, motorcycles and YES BIKES!!! …. After a visit through the facility George (one of the very nice rental agents) took the time to introduce me to the MiniGyro. It’s a high quality product and provides the stability needed during fast, mobile, action scenes. The Gyro itself fits in a Pelican case and can be carried around across the world. Not only allowing for a max. weight of a 40 lb camera, but a perfect stabilizer for new still cameras that allow for 1080 or 72o recording. The MiniGyro requires 3 pin 28 volts DC input into right side receptacle. The gyro requires 20 minutes spin-up time before filming to reach the perfect rotation necessary to allow for its full effect.

We found just what we were looking for and since the crew advocates a unique approach for Schwartza, we embrace the fact of insisting on using new equipment fresh of the market :o)

Now, thinking that there might be a catch ?!? No, Tyler Camera mounts donated the use of the gyro to our project :o), but the best part was a picture with the owner himself Nelson. Again, I said it in the past, present and I will continue saying it in the future THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your support to future film makers :o)
